Kia Tisdale

Dr. Kia Tisdale

Dr. Kia Tisdale is originally from Hampton, Virginia. She earned her medical degree from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA in 2002. After completing her residency in Internal Medicine/Women’s Health, she and her husband, Randy, moved to Hagerstown, Maryland.

In Hagerstown, the Tisdales welcomed Harrison and Lauren, now 12 and 9. On July 4, 2017, baby Maxwell became the newest Tisdale bundle of joy!

Since her children entered public school, Kia has purposefully inserted herself into their school experience. She has organized and hosted book clubs, math clubs and movie screenings. All with the intent of making herself visible to her children and FOR other children. She believes children need to see themselves in those adults who lead them. When you see someone like you doing it, you can do it, too.

In 2018, she was awarded the Physician Community Service Award by Meritus Health System.

She is looking forward to being just as present and purposeful in FCPS and is a member of The FCPS Curriculum Diversity Women Solve Group.
