Protean Gibril

Protean Gibril has more than 30 years of experience in the advertising industry, beginning her career as a curator’s assistant; moving on to represent photographers, illustrators, and other CGI talents; and then producing numerous design products for federal organizations and countless other amazing freelance opportunities. She is currently a senior strategic communications developer and brand management lead for a Washington DC federal agency, managing a multifunctional team of web and brand development specialists. 

She enjoys a variety of interests, including painting, photography, collecting artwork and finding new talents, volunteering at local museums, especially her beloved National Museum of African American History and Culture. She also serves as vice-president to a western Maryland children’s organization that has worldwide recognition for fostering leadership development in all children. 

Gibril lives in Mount Airy, MD with her husband, Alieu (Al), and her daughter Leila and is a mentor for The FCPS Curriculum Diversity Women Solve Group.
